West Bowling paid a heavy price for a slow start to go down 35-24 at National Conference Division One promotion rivals Eastmoor Dragons.
Bowling never recovered from an early 20-point blitz. Substitute centre Tim Sutcliffe certainly did his bit when he appeared off the bench to score four tries, which, together with another effort from hooker Sha Basha plus two conversions from Lee Innes, went some way to establishing a more respectable final scoreline.
Clayton showed their Premier pedigree by posting a hefty 40-4 success at Victoria Rangers to march into the semi-finals of the Jack Senior Memorial Bradford Cup.
The Vics waved a rueful goodbye to leading scorer, centre Danny Dixon, who signed for Hunslet Hawks the day before and were never in the hunt as Clayton rattled in the points in an eight-try haul.
Lewis Judson, Eddie Harney, Craig Pickthall, Matt Flanagan, Richard Cousen, John Parkinson, Danny Belshaw and Jason Brooksbank made the whitewash leaving scrum half Craig Dalladay to post the solitary reply for a Rangers side well served by prop Craig Magson.
Queensbury had far too much firepower for a brave Bank Top Harriers, running in a 78-4 total after the Harriers had sportingly forfeited home advantage when their ground was declared unfit.
They even took an early lead with a penalty before the floodgates opened, with wingman Luke Brearcliffe (4) and centre Gareth Hobson (3) the Bury destroyers in chief. Carl Smith (2), Matt Galtress, Darren Wilkinson, Johnny Bruce, Peter England and Chris Wainwright also made the chalk.
West Bowling A's vastly experienced centre Mark Dunning turned the tables on Undercliffe to put his side through 25-19 at Emsleys Rec.
'Cliffe raced ahead 14-0 before Bowling clawed their way back to level matters 18-18 at the break and it was not until the last minute when Dunning scored his second vital touchdown that the match was finally decided.
Queensbury A are through to the final of the Hudson Foster Supplementary Bradford Cup for the ninth time in ten years following a 42-6 win at Thornton.
Half-back Kelvin Worthington marshalled the home forwards to good effect but they had no one to match Bury loose forward Brett Marriott, who bagged 22 of the points with two tries and seven goals. Neil Hobson (2), Gregg Marriott, Danny Holmes and Luke Cooper also crossed.
Clayton A also make the showpiece event, winning 36-10 at home after trailing 10-4 to Wyke A.
Paul Crossley (2), Gareth Judson, Danny Knapton, Jim Waddington and Phil Redgrave with a try and six conversions ensured a win that sets up a mouthwatering local derby.
