Bank Top Harriers travel to face old rivals Lindley Swifts in the ANDREW BENNETT MEMORIAL TROPHY semi-finals on Saturday.

The Harriers have traditionally always had a close tussle with the Huddersfield side and while they now enjoy being a division higher in the pecking order, cup rugby is a great leveller.

Lindley have lost only once in the Pennine League, while Bank Top have made their Division Two status secure after a wobbly start.

They warmed up with a 22-12 home win over Dearne Valley last week, forwards Clem Muchiti and Scott Haley posting tries.

And with former Wyke prop James Barraclough scheming and probing effectively after being handed the captain’s arm band, hopes of reaching the final are sky high.

Long-serving hooker Mark Conway, who has been with the club since their inception, is picking up top player awards consistently and prop Dave Wilkinson is another unsung hard worker who deserves some reward for his efforts.

Meanwhile, Odsal Sedbergh A are bidding to reach the PENNINE SUPPLEMENTARY CUP final in their first season since being reformed.

But the Division Seven side face a tough home test against neighbours Wibsey Warriors A, who are still in contention for promotion from Division Five.

Queensbury still have high hopes of gaining promotion from DIVISION ONE, having games in hand on the other contenders, and look to have a banker at rock-bottom Wyke.

West Bowling A against Clayton at Bankfoot Oval is bound to be the usual arm wrestle.

Clayton won the reverse fixture 20-10 and will be fresh after a week off.

Bowling add Joe Bartle, Dwaine Platt and Simon Owen to their strong squad.

Birkenshaw, who gave struggling Illingworth a 40-0 roasting earlier in the campaign, look to have the bit between their teeth in the try-scoring stakes, which could prove to be further bad news for the visiting Halifax side.

Odsal Sedbergh host DIVISION THREE table-toppers West Leeds intent on gaining revenge for a 34-20 defeat at the start of the season.

Sedge, who have narrowly missed out on promotion, will be keen to build on last week’s 12-8 win at Dudley Hill, in which stand-off Paul Bottomley and second-row forward Jason Marshall posted tries.

Victoria Rangers will be looking forward to their trip to Ovenden A, who they previously trounced 52-6 for their highest total so far.
