Birkenshaw keep second place in Pennine League Division One following the 24-12 success at Dodworth.
Birky had to pull out all the stops against a resilient bottom-of-the-table home side that restricted them to a 6-2 half-time lead but the second period saw Seth Lambert, Andy Hirst and Mark Horne take charge to post a comfortable win.
Tries came from David Scriven (2), Ben Cousen and Mark Horne, with Gary Proctor kicking four goals.
West Bowling’s young wingman Ben Creswell posted a hat-trick in the 24-20 home defeat against Ackworth Jaguars.
Bowling’s second string fought back after being 16-4 down at the break but could not find a winner despite the huge contribution from hooker Glenn Barraclough, who also crossed. Ash Wood kicked the two conversions.
Wibsey Warriors have the Division Four title well within their sights following the 18-12 away win over main rivals Littleborough.
The Warriors made it a staggering 29 games unbeaten thanks to tries from full back Mike Derrick, centre Phil Brain and scrum half Nick Walker but it was loose forward and man of the match Andy Robinson who earned the plaudits with a last minute touchdown to add to his earlier conversion that sealed the points.
Queensbury A won 32-0 at home to Stainland, racing into the lead with early converted tries from Neil Hobson, Rory Brooke and Aaron Moore.
The second half went very much the same way as the first with Stainland pressing the ’Bury line but unable to break their defence.
A second try for Rory Brooke and two for hooker Gareth Crowther, including a spectacular 60-yard sprint to the line, completed the tally.
