Bank Top Harriers pulled off the shock of the day with a 20-0 home win against Wyke in the opening round of the JACK SENIOR MEMORIAL BRADFORD CUP.
The Harriers showed no respect for their opponents, who are one section higher in the Pennine League hierarchy, by rattling in three unanswered tries from Dan Oldfield, Mark Bailey and Ryan Sample. Scrum half Bob Brown added all the extras and also kicked a penalty.
West Bowling A went through 34-20 at Victoria Rangers, stand off Mark Dunning getting them under way with a touchdown converted by Ash Wood.
A spectacular long-range interception try from Damian Smith levelled matters but veteran Phil Chappell and another Dunning effort kept Bowling ticking over.
This was soon followed by two killer blows from Wood and Matt Sharpe as Bowling dominated until Rangers had the final say with another 70-yard interception special, this time from Pete Snipe.
Dudley Hill A posted a 24-6 success at Queensbury A in the first round of the HUDSON FOSTER SUPPLEMENTARY BRADFORD CUP.
After losing by 50 points to their local rivals in a league game, 'Bury battled hard and kept Hill to 16-0 at half-time.
A Neil Hobson try, converted by Andrew Barraclough, gave brief hope of a comeback before the Parry Laners hit the straps to ensure a hard-earned place in the next round.
Wibsey Warriors eased through 26-6 at Thornton thanks to tries from Brain, Coates, Derrick, Walker and Horrocks, with Andy Robinson adding the conversions.
