National Conference sides Bradford Dudley Hill and West Bowling welcome back key players for their Ace Insurance National Cup first-round ties tomorrow.

Hill have scrum half Tony Williams available and he will be a key member of a strong squad that travels to Pennine League Premier Division big guns Sharlston Rovers.

The Wakefield-based side are a cracking cup team, having already booked a place in this year's post-Christmas Yorkshire Cup final at Featherstone Rovers and they can arguably boast to being one of the strongest outfits outside the flagship National Conference competition.

Hill are a class act themselves and with Williams calling the shots and Liam Jarvis operating at hooker against one of his former clubs it could be a close call.

West Bowling pack leader and assistant coach Ricky Helliwell returns to the side at Eccles & Salford for a game that will be a welcome relief from the trials and tribulations of their Premier Division relegation battle.

Helliwell, who travels to the neck of the woods where he learnt his trade with Super League side Salford City Reds, before moving on to Featherstone and Keighley Cougars, will be the kingpin for Bowling - who have Sha Basha and Mark Dunning staying behind with the second string due to work commitments.

Clayton fly the Pennine League flag at the home of another National Conference thoroughbred, Skirlaugh.

The Bradford side face opponents who are the reigning National Conference Premier Division champions and are again challenging hard.

They reached the Blackpool final two seasons ago.

Clayton will use their sloping pitch to full advantage but it would be a major shock if they manage to upset the applecart.

Queensbury have a great chance to progress at East Leeds.

The Hunslet club have lost ten Division One NCL matches on the trot whilst Bury are in good nick, mainly due to the big boot successes of loose forward Brett Marriott.

With the Bankfoot Oval unfit, the top match on the domestic front is at Emsleys Rec where West Bowling A meet Ackworth Jaguars.

Coach Chris Minchella explained: "We both came up last year and are level in joint third place.

"They walloped leaders Birkenshaw last time out but with Basha and Dunning dropping down, plus Martin Tordoff back after injury, we have our best side out so far".

Birkenshaw are at home to fellow joint leaders Crigglestone in what will be a cracker, while Division Two dark horses Wyke will be searching for the double over table-toppers Emley Moor on home soil at Towngate.

Bank Top Harriers entertain fellow Division Three contenders Lindley Swifts and Undercliffe Wildboars will move up the table if they see off struggling hosts Sharlston A.
