CLAYTON continued their Pennine League revival with a 26-16 win over Crigglestone All Blacks at Lidget Green.
Long-serving half-back Scott Pendlebury, who has come out of retirement to help the club in their hour of need, was instrumental in guiding the young side to their eighth Division Three success of the campaign.
Jamie Waterman touched down twice, with other tries coming from James Flanagan, Barry Coombes and Ryan Wilkinson, who added three conversions.
Queensbury, meanwhile, paid the price for a slow start at Queens to remain bottom in the Premier Division.
Two opportunist scores against the run of play meant that 'Bury changed ends 12-0 down, before the hosts collected another try on the restart.
Queensbury did not get their tally rolling until late on, when centre Greg Marriott reached the chalk and stand-off Jonny Norman added the extras.
When three-quarter Danny Sykes won the foot race to add a further touchdown, it was game on at 18-10. But smart play from Queens' backs took over to see them to a 30-10 victory.
Odsal Sedbergh were in peak form to lower Championship One Division top-four contenders Batley Boys' colours 26-20 at Odsal Rec.
Sedge, ahead 18-12 at the break, carried on the good work in the second stanza to finish the match with tries from scrum half Scott Smith (2), second-row Ben Cousin, loose forward Luke Dawson, centre Robert Priestley and packman Nick Chapman. Stand-off Paul Bottomley was also outstanding.
Wyke's hopes of pulling off a giant-killing act at Division Two table-toppers Underbank Rangers soared when Duane Platt side-stepped the full back for an early six-point lead.
But the black and whites' discipline then went haywire, with three players eventually residing in the sin bin – and despite another quality effort from Platt and a Tim Stones touchdown, it was the hosts who reached the finale with a 50-18 total.
West Bowling A managed a creditable backs-to-the-wall four-try response to rampant hosts Emley Moor's 64-20 tally in Division Four, with Ben Cousen (2), Daniel Strawbridge and Matt Sharp reaching the whitewash and Mike Dunderdale adding two conversions.
Honours ended even in the Division Six West derby between Queensbury B and Odsal Sedbergh A.
Sedge's points in a 10-10 draw came from tries by Robert Booth and Robert Bahan, plus a Karl Read conversion, 'Bury replying through Dan Priestley and Dave Helm as Stuart Rubery added a kick.
Wyke A won 24-18 at Greetland All Rounders A. Marc Gregory, Jordon Payton, Adam Smith and Ross Stockdale reached the chalk, with Sam Redmond landing four kicks.
