Queensbury and Victoria Rangers will present formidable foes to Wibsey Warriors' ambitions of pulling off a Bradford Cup double when the sides meet at Bradford Salem RUFC on Sunday.

It is the first time in ten years that the local amateur clubs' main event of the season has not been held at Odsal Stadium, leading to Salem stepping into the breach to offer their facilities, which will ensure a carnival atmosphere.

With barbecues, beer tents and fast food adding to the occasion, under-15 teams from Queensbury and Wibsey Warriors get the day underway at 11.30am with a Yorkshire juniors' match.

Bury enter the main event - the Jack Senior Memorial Cup (3.30pm) - bang in form after a tremendous late run in the Pennine League Championship Division, and have breathed a sigh of relief with the return of prolific marksman Scott Swann on the wing.

Player-coach Andy Senior has also added Callum Murgatroyd, Jack Evison and Alex Destouche to the squad that drew 26-26 in a fiery encounter against Upton last week.

Wibsey have, by their high standards, had a mixed season in the Premier Division.

However, they have enjoyed a number of good cup runs. The Warriors' off-the-cuff style will trouble any outfit, and the speed and guile of centre Nick Fontaine is always a danger.

In the Hudson Foster Cup (1.30pm), Victoria Rangers have carried all before them this term and already have the Division Four championship trophy and the Pennine Supplementary Cup in the cabinet.

The Vics' only defeat was in the BARLA National Cup, and it will take a mighty effort to lower their colours.

Coach John Hodgson is a happy bunny following captain Willy Woodhead declaring himself fit following a calf injury, and wingman Rob Stones also has the all clear after a slight facial knock.

Wibsey A, who have finished mid table in Division Two, have suffered from a reduction in numbers to the summer game but they have a secret weapon in coach Alan Jowett.

If anyone can inspire a team, it is the wily veteran, who has seen long service with South Bradford and Wyke and knows the amateur game backwards.
