Wibsey Warriors will be seeking to secure another milestone in the club’s history when they travel to Thornhill Trojans in the semi-final of the Hamuel Reichenbacher Yorkshire Cup on Saturday.

The Warriors, who lost an agonising BARLA National Cup final at Fylde by a single point against Sharlston Rovers in June, will be determined to take centre stage once more.

They return to Dewsbury to meet a Trojans side who drew first blood with a 30-12 win in the Pennine League Premier Division encounter two weeks ago.

Influential prop Callum Dinsdale makes a timely return to the Birkenshaw ranks for the visit of Pennine League Championship Division One table-toppers Illingworth at East Bierley.

The experienced Dinsdale, who has recovered from an appendix operation and has seen action at the highest amateur level with West Bowling, Clayton and Dudley Hill, will fill the boots of Neil Cherryholme, who has returned to the professional game with Keighley Cougars.

Birky are relishing the clash, having recently disposed of Brighouse Rangers and St Josephs in impressive style, and will start favourites to beat the Halifax-based visitors for the first time this term and continue their unbeaten home record.

In the Premier Division, West Bowling travel to Halifax Irish in strength following the welcome return of second row forward Sha Basha, prop Connor Wood and centre Jack Dawson.

Wests, who have been restricted to four league games due to cup exploits, need the points to steer clear of the relegation zone, while Bank Top Harriers aim for their first win of the season when they take on Drighlington in the return fixture, having just lost the home encounter 16-10.

In Division One Wyke face a tough challenge at West Leeds but Division Two bottom outfit Clayton could produce a welcome home win against visitors Underbank Rangers, who have hardly put a foot right in recent games.

West Bowling A will miss long-serving centre Martin Tordoff (twisted knee) when they host Burley Lions in Division Four.

Keighley will have to be at their best when Queensbury arrive in the opening round of the Presidents Cup but Victoria Rangers will be favourites to rack up the tally when they host struggling Hoyland Vikings in the preliminary round of the Supplementary Cup.
