Bank Top Harriers are still searching for their first Pennine League Premier Division success following a 20-10 defeat at Keighley.

Man of the match Jason Gelder and Cameron Nelson posted a brace and Adam Mitchell kicked two conversions.

Harriers coach Simon Mitchell reflected: “We just were not clinical enough and blew at least six scoring chances that would have made a huge difference.

“Prop Sonny Farrell and second row Tom Leach were superb and we are going well so it won’t be long before we make an impact.”

Injury-ravaged Wibsey Warriors went down 40-12 at Drighlington. Prop Chris Vogel was outstanding.

In Championship Division One, Birkenshaw lost on their travels 22-10 at Bentley Good Companions. Matt Honysett and Luke Hudson made the chalk and Nathan Kitson landed a conversion.

Odsal Sedbergh came within a whisker of ending hosts Brotherton Bulldogs’ unbeaten start to the Division One campaign, missing out 26-24 in controversial circumstances.

With five minutes left Sedge were awarded a penalty that would have levelled the score but the referee informed them, wrongly, that they were four points adrift so they ran the ball without success. Sam Greenwood (2), Lee Birkett and Robert Priestley posted the tries.

Sedge A had no problems winning the Division Seven derby against Queensbury B 34-12. Jonny Ward claimed a hat-trick, with Andy Gabriel posting a brace and Danny Terry a solo effort.

Victoria Rangers are now four points clear at the top of Division Four after a 64-0 home win against Meltham All Blacks. Captain Willy Wood was in sparkling form, aided and abetted by centres Aiden Scully and Martin Southwall. Teenager Mikey Cunliffe made his debut in style with a number of telling runs.

Vics’ A team went to Moorends A with only 14 men but came away with a cracking 38-18 success. Azzer Brear (2), Jamie Kerr, Dom Christy, Conner Lewis, Ryan Khan and Hayden Sugden crossed the whitewash.
