West Bowling produced their best performance of the season with a 19-8 away win to end Keighley’s unbeaten record in the top-of-the-table Pennine League Championship Division clash.

Bowling fell behind early doors before wingman Jay Rossi made the chalk, which, together with a conversion from stand-off Liam Coe, restored parity at 6-6.

Coe was then on hand to cross for an unconverted effort just before the break to see his side into the sheds 10-8 up.

The second stanza was an arm wrestle throughout, with West’s strong defence being the key.

Rossi soon claimed his brace on the restart and, together with Coe, who posted a further two kicks and a drop goal, proved to be a key element. Prop Liam Martin was also outstanding throughout for the victors.

Bank Top Harriers also won 26-12 at third-placed Knottingley Rockware to keep their Premier Division hopes firmly on track.

Odsal Sedbergh’s march to promotion from Division Three kept on course with a 46-8 success at Greetland All Rounders.

Sedge crossed for nine touchdowns, with a brace each from Kaine McEwan and Jason Woolham, plus solo efforts from Josh Briggs, Jared Priestley, Luke Dawson, Andy Gabriel and Daniel Dove.

Division Four title contenders Undercliffe Wildboars won a hard-fought contest 28-14 at Thornhill.

A converted try from Ryan Dixon was the Wildboars' only contribution in a fiery first half that saw both sides having two players sent off.

Loose forward Matt Pitman, hooker Isaac Brown (2) and centre Paul Cross made the whitewash on the restart, with full back Aidan Scully finishing the game with four conversions.

West Bowling A went through to the semi-finals of the Pennine Supplementary Cup by 40-12 at home to Hollinwood.

Stand-off Max Trueman was the star of the show with a hat-trick, other contributions coming from Reece Spurr, Brett Greenwood, Ben Cousen and Glenn Barraclough.
