Cougars have plenty of time to prepare ahead of Monday’s clash with Workington at Cougar Park.
Jason Demetriou’s side are one of only four in Championship One to enjoy a free day on Friday, while Workington will be in action in a Cumbrian derby against Whitehaven.
“It’s quite lucky for us because we only have the Monday game,” said the Keighley boss.
“We can put all our attention on that but Workington have a big local derby to think about so it’ll be tough for them.
“We’ve got a long turnaround from the Rochdale game. It gives us the chance to prepare properly and hopefully gives James Haythornthwaite a chance to get fit in time.”
Haythornthwaite left the field with an ankle injury after his hat-trick heroics at Rochdale and Craig Moss is waiting in the wings in case he loses his fitness battle.
Otherwise, Cougars have a clean bill of health ahead of back-to-back home games, Workington being followed by South Wales Scorpions.
Demetriou added: “We’ve got back-to-back home games coming up so we’re looking to get another couple of wins.
“We want to make sure we don’t drop any points at home and go on a bit of a run now.”
All women are being given free entry for Monday’s game against Workington, with the bar opening at 12.30pm ahead of kick off at 3pm.
Children under 16 will also gain free entry with a paying adult under the Co-operatives ‘Kids Go Free’ intiative. Visit therfl.co.uk/kidsgofree for more details.
