Cougars hope to prove they have learned their own lessons when they tackle London Skolars on Sunday.
Barry Eaton's side picked up their first National League Two win of the season against Blackpool a fortnight ago and are bidding to produce a quick one-two when London arrive at Cougar Park.
Struggling Skolars have yet to taste victory themselves and any success would act as a huge morale boost for Keighley, lifting them clear of London, Blackpool and Gateshead at the bottom.
"We'd like to think this is another game we should be winning and we'll probably be favourites," admitted Eaton.
"We were pleased with how we performed against Blackpool and hopefully we can now kick on from that.
"The most pleasing aspect of that game was our defence. We really did defend well and it was a big part of our victory.
"If we can do that again on Sunday we'll be in a good position."
But the hosts are wary of the threat posed by London, who have former Cougar Latham Tawhai as their coach.
"They did the double over us last season," he said.
"This isn't so much about revenge but for those players still here from last year it probably still does rankle, especially the home loss.
"We were 18-0 up on the last day and ended up losing. That hurt."
Eaton, whose side didn't play last weekend due to the Northern Rail Cup, had hoped to bolster his squad in time for kick-off.
However, a host of targets have fallen through, with Leigh centre Adam Hughes joining rivals Oldham and York turning down their bid for former Cougars prop Toby Williams.
Eaton still hopes to snare Neil Lowe from Doncaster but the second-rower has first agreed to play for the cash-strapped Lakers this weekend.
They have just entered a CVA, making him a free agent but it seems likely Doncaster will find funds to retain the former Featherstone man at the National League One club.
Eaton has been put off by Wakefield's asking price for a loan deal with Academy centre Steve Lewis but will move to tie up a deal with a Halifax player next week.
Centre Alex Brown (ankle) and Wayne Sutcliffe (ill) are both out of Sunday's game.
