ECCLESHILL United exited the FA Vase at the first hurdle on Saturday, after coming out on the wrong side of a remarkable 10-goal game at home to Chadderton.
The scene was set early on, with Harvey Booth equalising for Eccleshill after only six minutes after the visitors had gone in front in the opening moments of the game.
Chadderton went back in front, before Booth levelled matters for a second time.
But crucially, the away side took the lead for a third time just seconds before the interval, and they did not look back from there.
They moved 5-2 up early in the second half, before Matthias Britton reduced the deficit with 10 minutes to go.
That only seemed to light a further fire in Chadderton, who scored twice at the death to complete a remarkable 7-3 win.
Tawheed Ahmed was on hand to score an early equaliser for Thackley in their FA Vase first qualifying round tie, but they eventually slid to a 3-1 home defeat against Colne.
There was better news for Route One Rovers, as the Bradfordians made it through with a 2-1 win at Northallerton thanks to goals from Austin Ohoro and Hunain Raoof.
Campion were in Northern Counties East League Premier Division action, and Zak Khan’s brace, including a last-gasp winner, sealed a 2-1 victory at Frickley Athletic.
Albion Sports drew 2-2 against Hallam at Horsfall, with all four goals coming in a thrilling second half.
Sumaili Cisse and Kieran Suddards were the men on target for the Bradford side, who benefitted from a late sin-bin for the visitors.
Over in the North West Counties Football League First Division North, Steeton drew 3-3 with AFC Blackpool at Marley, Josh Coe scoring a last-minute penalty to secure a point for the hosts.
Guiseley edged out FC United of Manchester 3-2 at Nethermoor in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, while Farsley Celtic lost 2-1 to Scarborough Athletic in National League North.
