CAMPION continue to apply the pressure on Emley at the summit of the NCEL Premier Division after securing a 3-0 victory over Barton Town on Saturday.
In a rampant opening to the contest the hosts were three goals ahead after just 24 minutes.
Samuel Bradley, Nicky Boshell and Nathan Cartman found the net for the Bradford outfit as they blitzed their opponents in a dominant first half performance.
After Bradley had put Campion ahead on the 13th minute, Boshell pounced to poke home his side’s second after meeting a flick on from a long throw in.
The scoring was complete when Cartman got away from his man to clinically dispatch the hosts’ third from a crossing situation.
Campion remain in 2nd and sit three points off table-toppers Emley, although they do have three games in hand on Lee Ashforth’s side.
The two sides face each other a week on Wednesday in Bradford, which is the next time that Campion take to the field.
Elsewhere, it was a limited NCEL schedule at the weekend, with several matches taking place tomorrow evening instead.
In the NWCFL First Division North, Route One Rovers put on a strong away display to defeat Steeton 4-1.
Zakariya Khan was the man of the moment for the visitors, as he scored a hat-trick to see his side into 2nd place in the table.
Joshua McKiernon put Steeton 1-0 ahead just after the interval, but back came Route One through Khan (X3) and Anees Younis to complete the second-half comeback.
Elsewhere, Ilkley Town drew 1-1 at South Liverpool.
Brighouse’s game at Consett was postponed as was Liversedge’s home fixture with Ossett United.
