IT was a midweek full of chaos for the likes of Silsden and Guiseley, but Steeton did get their game to go ahead.
Campion and Liversedge also fell foul of the icy weather, but at least they had relatively straightforward postponements.
The latter were due to be in Northern Premier League East Division action at home to Ossett United, but the West Yorkshire derby was called off around five hours before kick-off.
As for Northern Counties East League Premier Division leaders Campion, their League Cup third round tie at Beverley was called off just after 10am yesterday, saving them a trek over to East Yorkshire.
Poor Silsden have not have had their NCEL League Cup second round tie at Tadcaster Albion yet.
The two sides have tried to play the game four times, but attempts in November and December were thwarted by a waterlogged pitch.
They were both hoping it would be a case of third time lucky a fortnight ago, only for Tadcaster’s pitch to flood.
That meant the game was rearranged for last night, but this time it was frozen up.
Tadcaster and Silsden’s fifth attempt to play the match comes next Tuesday evening, with the winner of the tie going through to host Knaresborough Town in the third round.
Guiseley had a long trip to Whitby Town in the NPL Premier Division last night.
But having made it all the way up to that North-East coast, and with both teams having warmed up, the officials insisted the pitch was in an unplayable condition due to the freezing temperatures.
It meant the game was postponed five minutes before kick-off, to the immense frustration of the travelling squad and fans.
Guiseley chairman Gary Douglas has now confirmed that the club will pay for a supporters’ coach up to Whitby for the rearranged fixture.
Farsley Celtic’s National League North game at Peterborough Sports was officially called off yesterday lunchtime due to a frozen pitch.
That left Steeton as the last team standing, as they returned to Marley, after a month away due to a gas supply issue, to play a friendly at home to Knaresborough.
A trialist and Toby Jeffrey were on target for the hosts on the artificial surface, but the visitors won a thriller 3-2 thanks to an Aaron White hat-trick.
