ECCLESHILL United secured a place in the last 32 of the Isuzu FA Vase with a penalty shoot-out win at Lancashire side Longridge Town on Saturday.
Eccleshill took the lead in a tight game with their North West Counties League hosts in the 73rd minute through Matthew Sykes but Longridge Town came back as the game finished in a 1-1 draw.
But it was Ryan Toulson's side who won 4-2 on spot kicks, thus securing a place in the fourth round of the FA Vase which takes place in January.
In Toolstation Northern Counties East League action on Saturday, two Bradford sides faced difficult games, as Albion Sports visited Premier Division leaders North Ferriby and Thackley hosted second placed Emley AFC.
North Ferriby maintained their 11-point gap at the summit but they found it hard to break down a resolute Albion defence.
The hosts found their breakthrough in the 69th minute with Thomas Corner finding the net before Oliver Donald netted a second goal in stoppage time to secure a 2-0 win against Albion.
Joe Jagger took his season's tally in all competitions to 25 with a hat-trick as Emley AFC won 4-2 at Thackley to keep the visitors in second spot.
A brace by Thomas Greaves saw Thackley leading 2-1 with less than 15 left, but Jagger goals in the 77th and 78th minutes and a Joe Clegg goal in the 86th minute saw the visitors take the three points.
A fourth consecutive win for Penistone Church sees them climb up to fifth, a 3-1 home victory over Silsden AFC who drop below their hosts to seventh.
Cameron Simpson, Nathan Keightley and Reece High all scored goals for Church with Talent Ndlovu's penalty proving a consolation for the Cobbydalers.
In Division One, leaders Campion's excellent unbeaten start to the league season came to an end at the 19th game as they lost 2-1 to visitors Brigg Town who move up into the top five.
Aidan Day scored early on for the hosts but Martin Pembleton converted a first-half injury-time penalty before Stephen McCarron scored the Zebras' second just before the hour mark.
Horbury Town, who began the day in second place, also tasted defeat as an 87th minute match winner from Joe Lumley saw them go down 1-0 at Ollerton Town. Horbury play Thackley in the County Cup this weekend.
In Northern Premier League action on Saturday, Lewis Whitham’s quick reactions secured a valuable three points for Guiseley at Nethermoor with practically the last kick of the game.
A late Callum Chippendale penalty, awarded five minutes into stoppage time, was saved by Morpeth goalkeeper Daniel Lowson only for Whitham to be quickest off the mark and pounce on the rebound.
The goal was greeted by an eruption of noise from the home crowd who witnessed Guiseley’s first home victory in six weeks and ended a run of four consecutive defeats.
Struggling Liversedge lost 3-0 in a home game against Whitby Town, who got a brace from Jacob Day and a goal from Harrison Beeden.
Liversedge remain second from bottom in the Premier Division.
Farsley Celtic are also second from bottom in the National League North after they lost 1-0 to Peterborough Sports on Saturday.
