Woodlands won the all-JCT600 Bradford League clash with Baildon in the Solly Sports Crowther Cup final for second teams by two wickets with just three balls to spare at Shepley.

Skipper Cieran Garner (83) and Adam Wood (55) were the players who engineered the successful pursuit of Baildon’s 215-9 with a second-wicket stand of 101.

They had come together after Liam Brearley suffered the misfortune of being dismissed for a duck in a final for the second time this season, having suffered a similar fate in his side’s one-wicket Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield final defeat to Keighley .

Rob Medcalf (27) maintained momentum as wickets started to tumble before number ten John Hill came in and steered his side home with an unbeaten 11.

Skipper Jamie Abbott was the pick of the Baildon bowlers with 3-26 after opening the bowling.

Baildon had earlier owed their total to consistent batting from Steve Dunn (48), Dan Bailey (42), Chris Reynolds (41no) and Jonny Baines (32).

Phil Walker (2-36) and Rob Medcalf (2-38) were the most successful bowlers for Woodlands.
