Yorkshire picked up their first two batting bonus points during the afternoon session on day two of their LV= County Championship match against Glamorgan.
By tea at Headingley they had reached 276-6 in their first innings in reply to the visitors’ total of 272 all out.
Bradford-born Anthony McGrath was unbeaten on 36, with Azeem Rafiq on two, after four wickets fell during the session.
Adam Lyth was the first to go for 95 when he was given out lbw off John Glover, with captain Andrew Gale then bowled by Graham Wagg for 55.
Gary Ballance departed for 26 before on-loan wicketkeeper Andrew Hodd was ousted for only two, leaving Yorkshire with a lead of just four runs at the interval.
Joe Root and Phil Jaques had been dismissed during the morning after Yorkshire had resumed on 20 without loss.
