Yorkshire made good progress with the bat during the morning session on day two of their LV= County Championship match against Glamorgan.
By lunch at Headingley they had reached 133-2 in their first innings in reply to the visitors’ total of 272 all out.
Much of this was down to an impressive unbeaten half-century from Adam Lyth, who reached the interval unbeaten on 67, with captain Andrew Gale on 26 not out.
Two wickets fell during the session after Yorkshire had resumed on 20 without loss.
Joe Root was the first to go for 14 when he was pinned lbw by Graham Wagg by a ball which kept low, before Phil Jaques was ousted in the same manner by Jim Allenby for 13.
Glamorgan were also dealt an injury blow when Huw Waters was forced off the field with an ankle problem after he collided with an advertising board.
