The stage is set for a huge title clash this Saturday as Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One leaders Haworth host second-placed Crossflatts on the penultimate weekend of the season. 


Victory for Haworth would see them crowned champions but, with just three points separating them, Crossflatts would go level with one game to go if they win.


Both sides won last week as Haworth triumphed by ten wickets at Airedale, who have lost ten games to the weather this campaign.


In a game reduced to 30 overs per side, Haworth put the hosts in, and the move paid off handsomely as they were shot out for just 41.


A Mahmood top-scored with 22 as Damian Rowell took 5-8 off 11.4 overs and Stephen Bell 3-19 before the Bronte outfit galloped home without loss, Jamie Rowell making 33 not out.


Crossflatts dismissed visitors Bradley for 88, with Jimmy O’Hara claiming 5-27. The Ryshworth Park side then sauntered home for the loss of three wickets.


Third-placed Haworth Road slipped further behind when their game at fourth-placed Oakworth was called off due to a waterlogged field.


Thornton consolidated their fifth position when they entertained Cullingworth and beat them by 37 runs.


Barrowford made 139-8 at home to Bingley Congs, with Ajmal Choudhry making 35 as Neil Copping took 3-16.


The Beckfoot side were then shot out for 75 by Matt Clark (5-25) and Danny Jones (4-38).


The basement battle at Ingrow saw Embsay drag themselves out of bottom place and go one point above their hosts and Airedale.


Going first in a 30-overs-per-side game, the Shires Laners struggled to 115-8, with Nathan Robinson making 26.


The Hainworth hosts started well, with Alan Broadley (24) and Mark Price (27) putting on 45 for the first wicket.


They then tumbled to 79-8 before some tail-wagging got them to 103. Scott Robinson took 5-34 and Stephen Speak 5-43.

Division Two's top two Foulridge and Ingrow St John’s confirmed their promotion to the top flight with victories.


Second-placed St John’s entertained bottom side Sandy Lane and walloped 228, with Nomann Riaz scoring 52, A Raza 42 and Sarum Farooq 39 as Steve Carass took 5-109 off 22 overs.


The latter then top-scored with 49 as the Greenwood Park side were knocked over for 107, with Nadeem Saftar taking 8-38.


Foulridge, who are leaders by virtue of having the most wins, won a dour match by two wickets at Wilsden.

The Windy Grove side struggled to 107-9, with David Henson (48) being the only batsman to get into double figures.

The Noyna visitors had to battle hard to secure the points, taking 40.3 overs to reach their target as Tom Peirson took 5-27.


Early leaders Cowling have gone off the boil  and lost again, this time at Sutton. The Royd Hill side were dismissed for a moderate 119 but this was nine too many for the visitors.


Riddlesden smashed the day’s highest score, 288-7, at home to Glusburn. V Kakkar led the way with 84, putting on 128 for the second wicket with Nasser Kamal, who made 71.


The Park Field side were then hustled out for a paltry 45 in reply as Mohammed Arshad took 5-19 and N Razak 5-21.


Long Lee secured their spot in the division when they hammered Pendle Forest by 143 runs at Golden View.

The hosts were struggling at 77-7 before second-team skipper Jonathan Green made 88 not out and put on 97 for the eighth wicket with Jamie Robinson (26).

The Fence side then imploded to 37 all out as Shabaz Ahmed took 6-10.


Cononley made a creditable 172-5, with Andrew Starkey top-scoring with 37 as Michael Davison took 3-50.

Visitors Oakworth II replied with 177-6 to take the spoils as Steve Powell notched 44 and Jamie Lee 36.


It remains a four-way race for the Division Three title, with only three points between first and fourth.


Denholme and Barrowford are joint top after the Bull Holme team’s game at Skipton CI was abandoned because of a waterlogged pitch.


Denholme beat Haworth Road II after Richard Taylor made 61 not out in his side’s 199-8 at Baildon Bottom.

Isaac Murray chipped in with 35 and Adam Taylor 28 before the home side were dismissed for 78, with Neal Spencer taking 4-23.


Third-placed Embsay II entertained Ingrow St John’s II and made 155, with junior Morgan Davies making 56 as S Iqbal claimed 4-36 and A Raza 5-48.

The Saints reply was going quite well at 62-3 but they collapsed to 76 all out.


Fourth-placed Haworth West End had to settle for a point when their game with Eldwick & Gilstead was called off because of ground conditions.


Cullingworth were restricted to 100, despite 55 from opener R Walker, as visitors Chatburn cruised home by nine wickets. Neil Cartledge (49) and P Kenyon (44no) put on 96 for the first wicket.


Crossflatts II were unable to raise a team to play Gargrave.

Wilsden II secured the Division Four title when they saw off Bradley II by 50 runs at the Playing Fields. Anthony Stafford-Bennett was the star of the show with 38 and 4-33.


Bradford & Bingley III need a point to accompany them into the third tier. They hustled Cononley II out for 44, with Nick Smith (6-22) and Dave Critchlow (3-9) doing the damage.


The Wagon Laners lost two wickets reaching their target.

Riddlesden II are the only other side in the race for promotion, although they are five points adrift of second spot.

Over at Glusburn II, S Hussain scored a super 110 and Imran Mehrban 41 as the innings closed on 204-7.

Paul McCullough (50no) and Mike Johnston (46) took the Park Field side to 163-8 in reply as Darren Shields claimed 4-22.

Fourth-placed Airedale II crashed to 55 all out at Haworth II as Will Yilditz took 6-26. The Bronte side cruised home by seven wickets.

On a very damp wicket at Beckfoot, Bingley Congs II were restricted to 114-5 in their 45 overs with Steve Close (23no) and Bill Marshall (35no) putting on an undefeated 60 for the sixth wicket.

Visitors Long Lee II were never in the hunt and collapsed to 69 all out, with Mick Hawkes making 31 as Jamie Teale took 3-21.

There was no play between Sandy Lane II and Ingrow II.

Division Five champions Pendle Forest II maintained their form as they crushed Gargrave II by 114 runs at Fence. 

Simon Frost (38), Tahir Zaman (6-24) and J Frost (3-28) were their stars. For the visitors, Robert Storr took 5-82 and Will Stanley 3-66.

haworth west End II, who are a distant second, encountered few problems seeing off Eldwick & Gilstead II by seven wickets at Penistone Park.

Denholme II beat Thornton II by four wickets at Bradford Road, and there was no play between Chatburn II and Oakworth III, while Skipton CI II couldn’t raise a side to face Foulridge II.

Finally it was a day for the bowlers at Cowling II where Sutton II were the visitors.

Ray Jones (4-62) and Z Shafait (3-32) bowled through to restrict the Royd Hill side to 97-7 in their 40 overs, with M Allport making 41.

The hosts never got to grips with Tony Walton (7-28) and Dave Holdsworth (3-35) and were dismissed for 68.
