With only three games to go there is no room for error from sides in the Aire-Wharfe League promotion and relegation battles and no-one will be more aware of that than the players of Rawdon as they make their way to Pool on Saturday.

Victory will mean they go above their opponents into second place in Division Two; defeat would almost certainly mean another season in the second tier.

It’s a tough ask. Rawdon’s form has not been good with only one win in their last five completed, while Pool have won three out of four.

Harden, who lead the way by three points, also face a tough trip to Bolton Villas, who have won four of their last six and in Sam Lawrence, Mike Oldfield and Syed Hashmi have three of the most successful bowlers in the division.

But Harden have dropped only six points out of 42 in their latest completed games and have a line-up that includes match-winners in all departments.

Green Lane’s win over Rawdon last week kept them in the hunt and they should keep up the challenge with a win over relegation-threatened Upper Wharfedale.

Olicanian will be relegated if Calverley, the side hovering just above the drop zone, take at least a winning draw from their clash.

Ilkley face Knaresborough, looking for a third win in a row with Jeremy Batty in hot form having taken 9-24 in his last two matches.

The race for the Division One title seems to be between Beckwithshaw and Collingham, who are locked together on 66 points, eight ahead of third-placed Burley. But no fewer than six clubs still have a mathematical chance of joining Adel in the drop.

Ben Rhydding look favourites as they are seven points adrift of Guiseley and Follifoot but if they show the same spirit they displayed in the Waddilove Cup final, where they almost turned round an impossible situation, they could well pull off a shock.

They entertain long-time leaders Steeton - a side that have gone off the boil in recent weeks with only one win in five.

Guiseley have only picked up two points in the last 18. Now they face Beckwithshaw, who have won their last six completed matches. Any points will be a bonus for Guiseley.

They will be hoping that Otley, who are still on target to improve on last season’s fifth place, can do them a favour by beating Follifoot.

Thackley have been dragged into the mix after two defeats and abandoned matches against fellow strugglers Ben Rhydding and Follifoot that might have seen them climb clear.

Like Guiseley, they will be happy to take any points from the visit of Collingham.

Kirkstall’s form has improved in recent weeks and they will provide a good test for Burley, whose hopes of snatching the title all but disappeared with last week’s defeat by Collingham.

Bilton have edged away from the drop zone and should make themselves safe with a win over Adel.

In Division Three, third-placed Tong Park Esholt are involved in the top match when they face Silsden.

Having won their last three completed games and given a good account of themselves against leaders Colton before losing out to the weather, they are still in third place, ten points behind Colton and two back of Menston.

Silsden’s challenge faltered but they have won four of their last six so will present Tong Park Esholt with a stern test, while Menston should comfortably stretch their run to five wins in a row at bottom club Alwoodley, and Colton will be expected to beat Woodhouse.

At the other end of the table, Skipton are one point above the second re-election spot filled by Horsforth so Saturday's clash between them could be decisive.

Skipton will be hoping to re-find the form that produced a shock win over Colton prior to losing their last three games.

Hall Park travel to New Rover, while Addingham entertain Illingworth.
