The poor weather that has blighted the Dales Council season so far returned with gusto on Saturday, especially around the Bradford area.

However, some play was possible around the Leeds and Heavy Woollen districts, so much so that the Division A championship was finally decided, with leaders Leeds Sikh (87-2) retaining their crown in style after defeating Hyde Park (84) by a comprehensive eight wickets at Roundhay Park.

The only other game to start was in Dewsbury, where Saville Stars entertained bottom-of-the-table Crompark.

Batting first, the home side made 129 and in reply Crompark had reached 64-3 when the rain curtailed play with the game interestingly poised.

Apperley Bridge are the new leaders in Division B after coming away from Farnley Hill with a 75-run victory.

Batting first, Bridge reached 189-6 (Jamal Khan 78no) and in reply Hill were dismissed for 114 (Hamza Khan 5-24).

Meanwood (131-3, Adam Copeland 64no) are up to second in the table after a seven-wicket home win over visitors Adel (130, Tom Edwards 58).

Play started at both Cookridge v Pudsey Congs (28-1) and Drighlington -Whitehall (14-3) v Tong Manor but rain won the day at both venues.

There was no play in any of the fixtures in Division C , which leaves the destination of the title between leaders Tong Park Esholt and nearest rivals Undercliffe , who are scheduled to meet on the final day of the season.

In Division D , despite not playing, Baildon B were crowned champions.

There was play at Cookridge and Pudsey Congs. Cookridge (181-7) played host to Drighlington-Whitehall, who replied with 182-5 to record a five-wicket win.
