It was a bad day for the leaders of the top three Mewies Solicitors Craven League divisions as they all lost.

Haworth, head of Division One, hosted Bingley Congs and had them by the throat at 73-9.

Then Aidy Dibb (29no) and Tim Summers (29) put on 54 for the last wicket to get the score to 127 as Gary Binns took 6-45.

The Bronte side started brightly with 32 for the first wicket but then things unravelled quite dramatically and they were dismissed for 103, with Sudershan Alwar taking 6-46 off 17 overs.

Second-placed Haworth Road continued their poor form by going down to Bradley at Baildon Bottom.

Inayatt Ullah (68) and Charlie Hainsworth (37) were the main contributors to their 175-9, with three wickets each for Matt Buckmaster and John Duffey.

The South Craveners galloped home by six wickets in the 42nd over, Neil Andrews (68no) and Casper Bean (38no) putting together an undefeated 66 for the fifth wicket.

This defeat drops Haworth Road to third as they have been overtaken by Crossflatts, who saw off Ingrow by 139 runs at Ryshworth Park.

Amer Ayub (68), Mohammed Adil (66), Josh Brooksbank (47) and M Kumar (45no) helped the home side to a massive 245-4.

Alan Broadley made 42 as the Hainworth side replied with 106, Ayub taking 5-6 in four overs, which included four wickets in four balls.

Oakworth are fourth after demolishing Airedale by nine wickets.

Going first, the visitors made 121, with S Knapper top-scoring with 35 as Jack Davison claimed 5-25.

In reply, Jack Hainsworth (67) and Joel Gallagher (39no) put on 93 for the first wicket to set the platform for victory.

Cullingworth are fifth after they beat bottom-placed Embsay by seven wickets at Shires Lane.

The hosts were indebted to 93 not out from Duncan Ward as they posted a creditable 171-9.

After a couple of early successes, it was all downhill as the Roydwood Terrace side stormed to victory, with Chris Welch (81no) and Steve Welch (46no) putting together a winning unbroken partnership of 136.

Thornton gathered three very useful points as they saw off the challenge of Barrowford by 12 runs at Bull Holme.

The Booth Bridge Laners were 110-7 before evergreen Jason Lockley (51no) and Jack Laycock (25no) pushed the score up to 176-7.

The home side were looking comfortable at 150-6 but Laycock (4-55) demolished the tail to snatch the spoils, with Freddie Bailey top-scorer with 51.

Ingrow St John’s, leaders of Division Two, were at Wilsden and, going first, made 157 with F Abassi scoring 37 as Stuart Wilson claimed 4-24 and Steve Wright 3-29.

Wilson followed this with 65, to go with Chris Mitchell’s 43 not out, to see the Windy Grove side to the points by four wickets.

Foulridge join Saints in top spot after they accounted for Glusburn by 59 runs at Park Field.

The Noyna side rattled up 236-9, with Andrew Dutton making 69, Chris Gildea 66 and Andrew Makin 36 not out as Nick Williamson toiled his way through 23 overs to finish with 5-106. Alan Coney (78no) was the mainstay of the home side’s reply of 177.

Cowling move menacingly into third spot, just a point behind the top two.

They took no prisoners as they hammered Pendle Forest by nine wickets at Keighley Road.

The Fence side could only manage 111, with Alex Summerscales making 33 not out as Martyn Dalby took 3-27 and Steve Richardson 3-30.

Richardson (66no) and Graham Rishton (27) put on 101 for the first wicket to set up the comfortable victory.

Sutton’s promotion hopes suffered a setback when they slumped to a 13-run defeat at Riddlesden. The Grange Road side were under the cosh at 37-7 before No 9 Jamie Fullwood hit a career-best 63 not out to push the score to 125-9, with Justin Holdsworth taking 5-31 off 17 overs. Mohammed Shanawaz made 45 of his side’s 112, with M Zulfiqar claiming 5-51 and Mohammed Arshad 4-41.

The basement battle between Long Lee and Cononley at Golden View went the way of the latter by 89 runs.

The South Craveners scored 179-9, with Charles Calvert top-scoring with 43 as Andy Greenwood took 3-39.

In reply, only Shabaz Ahmed (31no) put up much resistance as the home side crumpled to 90 all out, with Herbie Starkey taking 4-27 and R Taylor 3-26.

Cononley are joined at the bottom by Sandy Lane, who could only manage 109 at home to Oakworth II, who put their recent poor run behind them to win by eight wickets.

Two of the Cure Hill side’s rich crop of juniors came to the fore. Under-17 player Matty Lee made a cracking 64 not out and under-15 player Ben Howell took 4-25 and scored 18 not out in the excellent win.

There was a cracking game at Penistone Park, where Haworth West End took on Denholme, leaders of Division Three.

Rob Taylor (66) and Joe Greenwood (60) helped the visitors to a very healthy 214 as Andy Benfield took 6-13 off 5.1 overs.

The Bronte side were struggling at 153-8, despite 43 from Josh Holt and 40 by Sam Chipman.

Then Benfield (41no) and Glen Palmer (28no) carried then over the line with ten balls to spare as Luke Pickles took 3-48 and Matty Wear 3-28.

Barrowford II are now top after they got the better of Chatburn by five runs in a high-scoring game.

The Bull Holme side rattled up 223-8, with Wasim Ali making 101no and Pete Cowburn 40.

As with a few games, it was a late partnership that threatened to snatch the match.

Andrew Lambert (64) and Ben Threlfall (36) had got the Ribble Valley side to 200-7. Sadly they were pulled up just short with five balls left of the innings.

There was another narrow win, by nine runs, at Sandylands.

Visitors Eldwick & Gilstead had Danny Pearson (58) to thank for their 117 as John Stuttard took 5-44 and evergreen Chris Windle 3-12.

Skipton CI were dismissed for 108, with Andy Maude and Arnie Rastrick taking three wickets each. CI are now four points adrift at the bottom.

Haworth Road II visited Gargrave and made 123, with Will Forest hitting 43 as Will Stanley took 4-26.

The hosts were then rolled over for 69, with Narinder Gata Aura taking 5-16.

No doubt about the performance of the day, which came at Cullingworth II.

Visitors Embsay II scored a mammoth 378-6, with under-17 player Joe Holt scoring a magnificent 165 (seven sixes and 22 fours) and under-13 captain Elliott Stockton 68 (ten fours). They put on 245 for the fourth wicket, Russell Hogg and George Heartfield taking three wickets each.

The Roydwood Terrace side stuck manfully to their task with the bat and replied with 163, with Heartfield making 60 and Martin Walker 39 as Jonathan Coward took 3-4 to close the innings.

Wilsden II and Bradford & Bingley III head Division Four, with five points between the two.

The leaders rattled up 202-6 at Ingrow II, with Anthony Stafford-Bennett make a fine 96. The Hainworth side fell just 26 short of their target with Adam Millward making 32 as Michael Bailey took 3-24.

Bradford & Bingley III knocked over visitors Sandy Lane II for 98, with skipper Dave Critchlow taking 4-28. The Wagon Laners lost seven wickets reaching their target.

Airedale II must have been confident of victory when they dismissed visitors Riddlesden II for a meagre 61.

However, the Bradford Side were knocked over for 55 in reply. Giles Wilmore took 6-13 for the home side, while Mohammed Gulnawaz (4-6) and Imran Mehban (4-14) were the star bowlers for the Grange Road side.

Andy Holmes took 5-70 and Neil Robinson 3-19 for Bradley II as they dismissed Glusburn II for 125 at the Playing Fields.

Neil Lambert (45) and Neil Robinson (42no) then led the hosts to the points by six wickets, with D Mortimer taking 4-42.

There was another close finish at Bingley Congs II, where the home side got home by six runs against Haworth II.

Going first, the Beckfoot side were indebted to skipper Tony Teale, who made 62 of their 114 as Gary Searby took 5-34.

Teale then took 4-30 and his elder son Jonny 5-24 as the Bronte side fell short.

Mick Hawkes claimed 7-25 as Long Lee II dismissed Cononley II for 81. Then Jan Haider made 38 to see the visitors to a comfortable six wicket win.

Pendle Forest II are galloping away with Division Five. They saw off their nearest rivals Cowling II by 112 runs at Fence.

A Ahmed made 69 as the home side posted 158, with Sajid Shafait taking 5-44 and Zahid Shafait 5-99.

Then Tahir Zaman took 6-18 off 12.3 overs to have the ten-man visitors back in the hut for 46.

Thornton II join Cowling II in second spot after they received three points because Gargrave II couldn’t raise a team.

Haworth West End II’s Peter Hatton (5-6) and Liam Chipman (4-20) were the stars of their five-wicket victory at Denholme II.

The bowlers were in the ascendency when Chatburn II just got the better of Foulridge II by two wickets at Noyna.

Chris Mulhearn took 7-29 for the winners and Imran Khaliq 4-42 and Ray Tunnicliffe 3-22 for the losers.

Nine-man Sutton II went down by six wickets to Oakworth III at Royd Hill.

Finally, much to their relief, Eldwick & Gilstead II managed another game at home.

Visitors Skipton CI II were dismissed for 79, with A Moss taking 4-30 and M Rogers 3-21. Then Mark Brodigan made 39 as the hosts got home by eight wickets.
