It’s as you were at the top of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League after the top four GROUP A teams all won again.

Leaders Girlington beat Hallfield by 23 runs in a match which saw 443 runs scored.

Zaheer Hussain (59no), Abdul Rehman (55) and Musarwar Shah (51) led Girlington to 233, with Hallfield then all out for 210 (Imran Abbas 61) as Shah added 5-84 to a good day’s work.

Second-placed Salem Athletic won by eight wickets as Umar Kettab scored 66 not out after Mehr Sultan had taken 5-26 – including his second hat-trick of the season – to help dismiss Bradford Gymkhana for 138.

Omars remain third after a two-wicket win over Great Horton Church, who had posted a modest 124 against Rizwan Mahmood (5-11). Ishtiaq Raza picked up 5-28 in a losing cause.

BPR edged out Cambing by just three runs after successfully defending a 120 total. Abdul Hamid’s 4-25 proved decisive on the back of team-mate Mohammed Majid’s 48 against Shakeel Arshad (5-40).

At the bottom, Allerton gained a much-needed win to close the gap on the teams above. They beat Heaton by four wickets after Zubair Patel’s 7-60 had rushed out their opponents for 135. Faisal Mahmood scored 54 in the successful run chase.

The top three in GROUP B were all victorious, with leaders Salem Athletic seeing off Yorkshire LPS by 39 runs. Aftab Yasir (62) led Salem to 179-9, despite the best efforts of Peyush Patel (5-25), before LPS were all out for 140.

Naveed Iram struck 50 as Bradford Gymkhana reached 195 against Rab Nawaz (5-45) and won by 90 runs against BPR, Zafran Hussain’s 5-29 dismissing them for 105.

There were some big scores as Interlink defeated Heaton by just 19 runs. Yunus Bismillah (61) and Asif Sheik (59) steered Interlink to 215-9 and Heaton replied with 196 (Adil Ishtiaq 53).

Rizwan Mushtaq scored 103 not out in Girlington’s 229-7 as they went on to beat VVS Laxman by 80 runs, with Mohammed Ishtiaq’s 6-44 counteracting Mohammed Zubair Imtiaz’s 51.

Odsal bowler Joe Deakin took 7-32 as Mayfield were all out for just 74 but eight of his team-mates were dismissed in reaching their target against Arshad Mahmood (5-18).

The top two in GROUP C are beginning to pull clear, with Bowling Baptist (187) leading the way after crushing Bradford Indians (57) by 130 runs thanks to the efforts of Mohammed Ibrara (53) and Arshad Mahmood (6-25).

Shaun Briggs hit an undefeated 84 supported by opening partner Bryan Greenwood as Cross Roads & Daisy Hill overwhelmed Mandhata (113 – Chris Hartley 5-51) by ten wickets.

West Bowling (170) beat Great Horton Meths (88) by 82 runs, while Muff Field continued their valiant attempt to move off the bottom of the table by defeating Great Horton Church (106) by seven wickets as James Fallon and Stephen Hirst claimed four victims apiece.

Cambing (69-1) logged an easy nine-wicket win over Yorkshire LPS (68) to stay top of GROUP D.

But second-placed Hallfield (172-7 – Fraz Ali 54) were made to fight by Buttershaw St Pauls (168 – Michael Chubb 55) before claiming a three-wicket success.

Kabir Ahmed hit 44 not out as Allerton won by seven wickets against a depleted Muff Field (78), while Mayfield (122 – Mark Davies 6-22) drew with Central YMCA (78-8 – Gary Smith 6-29).
