Apperley Bridge continue to set the pace at the top of Division A after their latest Dales Council League success at Halifax Direct.

Batting first, the leaders blasted 283-5, with Zafar Jadoon Khan hitting an unbeaten 125 and Mohammed Kurshid 67.

In reply, Halifax were stopped well short at 164 with Ghiyas Ahmed Mirza starring with the ball, returning 5-28 for the front-runners.

Second-in-the-table Rodley (89/2) stay three points behind Bridge after completing a comprehensive eight- wicket win at Hawksworth, who were earlier dismissed for just 83.

Arguably the match of the day in the division saw third-in-the-table New Wortley match up with fourth- placed Shipley Providence, and it proved to be a thriller, with visitors Prov (163-9) snatching a one-wicket win over their hosts (162-8).

Rain affected the Hepworth & Idle clash at home to Baildon in a reduced-overs game but it didn’t stop Anthony Heaton hitting 101 out of 182-7 for Heppies.

New signing Danny Bailey hit 52 for Baildon out of 101-2 against one of his former clubs.

Leeds Sikh (142) recorded a 42-run home win over Hyde Park (100), who slipped to a second successive defeat.

Tong Manor (165-9) are back on top after a nail- biting one-wicket win at home to Drighlington-Whitehall (164-8, Neil Robinson 65).

Previous leaders Farnley Hill collapsed from 159-3 to 192 all out (Chris Sowden 68, Ryan Grimes 51) in reply to Apperley Bridge B (225-9, Suhail Ahmed 50). Adel (109, David Horne 63) remain in third place after a 27-rub win over Meanwood (82).

The game of the day in Division C saw leaders Tong Park Esholt (108-8, Simon Hogan 52no, Tom Hall 6-29) suffer their second consecutive defeat, this time to closest rivals Undercliffe (169-5, Adam Frost 65).

Division D leaders Baildon B reached 231-7 (Ali Malik 110) in a reduced 37-overs-per-side game. Visitors Pudsey St Lawrence B could only manage 88-9 in reply.

There were bizarre happenings at Cookridge C, where the home side were dismissed for just 31 (Mark Ferguson 5-10). In response, Pudsey Congs B fared little better, reaching their target (34-7) to record a three-wicket win.
