Bradford & Bingley’s new second pitch has been named the Ian Morrall Ground.

The cricket club have honoured their president by attaching his name to the venue in recognition of his hard work in establishing the facility.

Morrall has helped with the development of the new ground, preparation of the square and the supply of the containers for changing, scorers and teas.

He only found about the accolade when the ground was officially opened last week.

The pitch, which is across the river from the club’s main Wagon Lane ground alongside two rugby pitches, is being used by their third team, who play in the Craven League, as well as an extra venue for junior matches.

Bingley have had a third senior team for three years but they have previously had to play home matches away from the town.
