BPR’s second team have been promoted two divisions in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League.

Last season’s Division Four winners will play in Division Two alongside new teams Interlink and VVS Laxman, who are based on the Indian Panthers team from the Evening League.

Only two slots were available as the division expanded from eight teams to ten but three into two will go as Muff Field A have opted to drop into Division Three.

Fixture secretary Graham Langton said at the league’s January meeting at Clayton Rugby League Club: “As we originally discussed at our annual meeting last month, we will have two divisions of ten teams (Divisions One and Two) and two divisions of eight teams (Divisions Three and Four).

“BPR walked away with Division Four last season, while Interlink and VVS Laxman are also strong teams.”

Initially Interlink and BPR B were going into Division Two but Steve Broadbent’s offer to drop Muff Field A down meant that the three potentially strong teams could all play in the second tier.

Broadbent said: “We will volunteer to drop down because we have lost eight players from last season.”
