Four Yorkshire players, including former Bradford League fast bowlers Ajmal Shahzad and Moin Ashraf, have been selected in two separate England Performance Programme squads ahead of the forthcoming winter.
Shahzad, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root have all been named in a main 17-man EPP squad, which consists of training at Loughborough next month and then camps in India for batsmen, spin bowlers and wicketkeepers and South Africa for fast bowlers.
Ashraf has also been picked in a 13-man party of potential EPP players. The fast bowlers will undergo a strength and conditioning spell at Loughborough followed by a training camp in India.
Meanwhile, former Yorkshire left-arm spinner David Wainwright has signed a two-year contract at Derbyshire.
