Woodlands need a victory at Roberts Park tomorrow to be certain of clinching a second successive SDS Bradford League title.
They currently lead second-placed Pudsey Congs by nine points - but don't think that there is nothing at stake for fifth-placed Saltaire in their match against the prospective champions.
"If we win, we finish in our highest league position since 1974, when we were fourth," said Saltaire skipper Ijaz Khan.
"We have a history of doing well against Woodlands in recent times and we beat them at their place last season on the last ball after Mansha Khan and myself had each taken five wickets.
"It's no wonder that Wood-lands captain Tim Orrell said to me a few weeks ago that he wanted the title signed, sealed and delivered before the last game of the season.
"In other words, he didn't want to have to come to us with the championship still up for grabs because he knows we are a tricky customer." And if Woodlands needed a reminder that tomorrow might be a difficult encounter, it came from the fact that the reliable Mansha Khan has returned to the Saltaire side, having missed last week's match at home to Bradford & Bingley.
However, Woodlands are increasingly used to playing in big matches, they have an experienced side and have shown this season that they are less likely to stumble when the stakes are high than in previous seasons.
In addition, tomorrow could form the first part of a double celebration for the Oakenshaw club, as they play Townville on Sunday in the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions' trophy final at Hanging Heaton.
Congs are at Hanging Heaton tomorrow and, even without their overseas player Thilan Thushara, intend to make things tough for the side who have so often been the standard bearers in the Bradford League.
Tony Nat' Lawrence, secretary of Hanging Heaton, was one of those who watched Thushara go out with a bang last Saturday.
The Sri Lankan hit 18 sixes and five fours in a season's best 153 against Cleckheaton at Bennett Lane.
"I am sure that is a league record for the number of sixes in an innings - and it was an incredible innings," said Law-rence.
"He might have gone home but we still have plenty of players who can cause Congs problems."
Pudsey St Lawrence, 13 points behind Woodlands, are still in the shake-up too.
They are at home to Idle tomorrow, with visiting captain Mark Nicklin promising his side will play better than in their comfortable defeat at Woodlands last Saturday.
"Woodlands, Congs and St Lawrence have been ahead for most of the season - and may the best team win," said Nicklin.
