England's Matthew Hoggard and batsman Anthony McGrath had to have hospital scans yesterday after injuring themselves during Yorkshire's warm-up before the start of their Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Headingley.
Hoggard felt pain in his right side while having a practice bowl and McGrath damaged his left shin when he collided with team-mate Mark Lawson during a game of touch rugby.
An ultra sound scan showed clear' on Hoggard but he will have an MRI scan at Leeds General Infirmary today to see if he has a minor strain.
McGrath's scan revealed bruising and, although he returned from hospital on crutches, he could be fit for next week's final Championship match against Durham at Headingley. Paceman Steve Patterson replaced Hoggard in Yorkshire's line-up and Andrew Gale pulled out of the Second XI match against Essex at Stamford Bridge to take over from McGrath.
