Former Craven League player Arran Brindle has been named in the England squad for the 2011 NatWest Women’s Quadrangular Series, which also includes Yorkshire’s Katherine Brunt and Danielle Hazell.
And secondly Brindle, recalled to the international stage for the first time since 2006, became the first woman in history to score a century in men’s premier league cricket.
She scored 128 for Louth’s first team against Market Deeping in the Lincolnshire Men’s Premier League. Brindle, whose innings included a huge six, captained the team in 2007, 2009 and 2010 and the fifth best innings in the league this season took her average to 67 - 201 runs in three matches.
