Threre were some high-scoring matches in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League's Sir James Roberts Cup first round.
West Bowling’s match against Heaton provided two century partnerships. Battng first, West Bowling made 205-9, Chris Carter(74) and Joe A'Hearne(52) sharing an opening stand of 160.
In reply, Heaton lost a few early wickets but 111 from Mohammed Saghir and two decent partnerships - 66 for the fifth wicket (with Basit Ellahi) and 104 for the sixth (with Asif Maji, 56 not out) helped them home with four wickets to spare.
Heaton A were the day's top scorers with 283-4 against Great Horton Meths. Leading the way were Shaukat Ali (118), Matloob Hussain (68 not out) and Kamran Mir (47 not out). In reply, Meths were all out for 119.
Bradford Gymkhana scored 264-5 against Bowling Baptist, Younis Bismillah hitting 84. Bowling were then all out for 60, with Tanveer Ahmed returning the best bowling figures of the day (7-26).
Salem Athletic scored 263-7 against Hallfield, with Masood scoring 104 and Nawzish 75. Hallfield replied with 168, Haroon Rashid making 75 and Zafar Iqbal 56.
Allerton scored 216 against Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths, with Aftab Mansoor and James Gilmartin both scoring 78. Daisy closed on 106, Byron Greenwood top- scoring on 41.
Odsal were all out for 92 against Omars, Vinod Patel doing the damage with 4-21. Omars passed the score with five wickets down, despite 4-51 from Vipul Sharma.
Girlington defeated BPR by 63 runs in a high-scoring match. Sajid Parvez scored 97 and Habib Ur Rehman 57 in Girlington’s 269.
In reply, BPR made 206, Ajmal Mahmood scoring 62. Rehman finished off a good all-round performance with 5-39.
Cambing are also through after a five-wicket victory over Great Horton Church.
Church batted first and made 176 all out , Raheel Butt scoirng 53, Cambing replied with 178-5, Mohammed Khan top-scoring with 84 not out.
