Yorkshire have only managed to take one wicket in the afternoon session of day two against Lancashire at Liverpool, with the hosts further strengthening their stranglehold on the contest.
After Steve Patterson had struck in the morning to remove Karl Brown lbw, Bradford-born leg-spinner Adil Rashid got Paul Horton caught behind by Simon Guy only seven runs short of his century.
Horton and Mark Chilton had shared 81 for the third wicket.
Chilton has since reached his half-century off 124 balls in much easier batting conditions than Yorkshire encountered on day one when they were bowled out for 141.
Chilton, born in Sheffield, and Steven Croft have added an unbroken 75 for the fourth wicket to take their side through to tea at 225-3 from 83. Lancashire lead by 84.
Rashid bowled 17 overs from the Pavilion End in this session, conceding 51 runs and taking a wicket. Chilton will resume after tea on 69 and Croft on 33.
