A Bradford Mutual Sunday School League club have been put on probation for the rest of this season and the start of next season after late payment of ground fees to Bradford Council.
Bradford Gymkhana only settled their debts for 2010 and 2011 a day or two before the start of the current campaign, despite claiming the money had already been paid.
League chairman Nick Spachis said at the league’s latest meeting at Clayton Rugby League Club: “If this happens again, I will be asking for Bradford Gymkhana to be thrown out of the league because not only have they brought the league into disrepute but there have also been falsehoods.”
League president Alan Broadbent said: “I suggest that they be put on probation for the rest of this season and for the start of next season.”
This proposal was accepted.
Meanwhile, Bradford Gymkhana are one of five clubs who have until Monday to produce current public liability information to league secretary Joy Wigglesworth.
The others are BPR, Omars, Salem Athletic and Yorkshire LPS.
Possible sanctions, as well as not playing the scheduled fixture, are a deduction of 25 points per team and giving 25 points to the opposition.
The Yorkshire LPS B v Mayfield B match, which was abandoned on April 30 because of a dangerous pitch at Hirst Wood, will be replayed at Mayfield on a date to be arranged.
