Yorkshire made slow progress with the bat this morning against Hampshire at Headingley.
Tim Bresnan fell for 87 and Ajmal Shahzad for 48 but not before they had completed a century partnership for the eighth wicket early on day two.
Yorkshire, who started the day at 304-7 from 96 overs, went in at lunch – 20 minutes early due to rain – at 343-9 from 118.5 overs.
Ryan Sidebottom made it to 21 not out at the break, with him showing most intent.
Hampshire captain Dominic Cork was in miserly form, bowling seven maidens from 11.5 overs, taking one wicket and only conceding ten runs.
He had Shahzad caught in the slips by Liam Dawson. Shahzad only scored six runs from 58 balls this morning and was stuck on 48 for 35 minutes.
The first wicket to fall was that of Bresnan, who was caught behind by Nic Pothas off the bowling of Kabir Ali.
Yorkshire missed out on a fourth batting point.
