Shane McNamara has made an instant impact in the Aire-Wharfe League at Steeton with four innings that have brought him 315 runs and only two dismissals.
Ironically the Aussie’s biggest knock - 156 not out - came on the opening day against Calverley, the only game in which Steeton have failed to win, having to settle for a four-point draw.
With Jonathan Best and Ross Suri starting to get among the wickets, Steeton’s confidence will be high going into Saturday's Division Two match with North Leeds.
Steeton are only a point behind surprise early leaders Ben Rhydding, who travel to Upper Wharfedale.
Harden suffered their first defeat last week against Knaresborough, and Richard Wear’s men will be looking to get back on track when they travel to Pool, while Calverley will do well to get anything from their trip to Knaresborough.
Menston, who came out on top with a five-point draw over Pool last week, will fancy their chances at Bolton Villas, who have managed only one point so far, while Olicanian will be expected to beat struggling Tong Park Esholt but will have to be wary of veteran Mick Scott, who is again among the wickets.
Thackley take a five-point lead at the top of Division One to defending champions Burley, who notched their first win at Rawdon last weekend.
Otley also got off the mark, beating Bilton, but will find the going a bit tougher when they travel to second-placed Collingham.
Apart from the leading pair, things look very even with the next nine places covered by just five points.
Behind them come Rawdon, who are already ten points adrift at the bottom and need to start picking up points, starting with their trip to Adel.
There should be an interesting clash at Green Lane, where Guiseley are the visitors, with both sides beginning to show signs of improved form.
Addingham will hope to make it two wins in a row in Division Three when they entertain struggling Hall Park, and Silsden will expect to notch their first win when they travel to rock-bottom Alwoodley.
Horsforth have stuttered after a good start and might find Woodhouse a bit of a handful, while under-performing Ilkley might not have it all their own way against Skipton, who have yet to be beaten.
