Allerton are the news leaders of Group A in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League after they defeated previously unbeaten Bradford Gymkhana by four wickets.

The bowling of veteran Ishtaq ‘Major’ Raza (5-34) helped to restrict Gymkhana to 160-9 (Shazad Khalid 48).

Allerton then got home with six overs to spare with good knocks from Messum Nisar (31) and Asif Sheikh (27 not out).

BPR gained their first win of the season after a 27- run success over Yorkshire LPS, Jahan Zeb scoring 62 in BPR’s 178 all out. Then Janghir Bostan took 5-8 as LPS fell just short.

Omars defeated previously unbeaten Heaton A by 53 runs in a match dominated by bowlers. Adeel Ahmed took 6-34 for Heaton and Majid Hussain 4-29 for Omars.

Girlington made 219 against Hallfield and then dismissed them for 90, Akhter Sohail Butt taking 5-68 for Hallfield and Mohammed Azad 4-40 for Girlington , The match between Cambing and Heaton B did not start due to rain.

In Group B, Great Horton Church lead the way by six points after they gained a winning draw against Odsal.

Sajjad Sabbir and Raheel Butt (58) shared an opening stand of 103 for Church, Jerrah Agha adding 66 not out in their 220-7, Paul Cutherbertson taking 6-57 for Odsal, who held out for a draw at 94-8.

Bradford Gymkhana B are second after they defeated Muff Field.

For Gymkhana, Anees AHmed scored 47 and took 5-22, and for Muff Field Frank Powell scored 49.

Mandhata gained their first win of the season by defeating Great Horton Meths by 33 runs, Hardik Dave scoring 45 and taking 4-22 for the victors.

The match between Mayfield and Salem Athletic did not start due to rain.

In Group C, Great Horton Church B have a ten-point lead at the top, and scored 224-4.

Bilal Ahmed, captaining the side at the tender age of 16 in the absence of the regular skipper, scored a magnificent 146 not out. Cambing were then all out for 124.

Salem Athletic are second after defeating Grilington by seven wickets, captain Yassir Shezad leading the scoring for Salem with 56 and Muhammed Zahid scoring 44 not out. Tariq Rasheed took 5-58 when Girlington batted.

West Bowling had a big win over Allerton, scoring 246 with a third-wicket stand of 120 between Chris Carter (126, his second consecutive century) and Hassan Ali(52) being the highlight of the innings. Hassan Ali then took 4-33 as Allerton were all out for 135.

Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths gained their first win of the season against Bowling Baptist, Byron Greenwood starring with bat and ball.

In Group D, BPR have the only 100 per cent record with three wins from three matches, having defeated Central YMCA by 56 runs.

Tahir Abbas top-scored for BPR with 62 and Phil Swires took 4-13 for YMCA.

Bradford Indians are second after their ten-wicket win over Yorkshire LPS. Tahir Data (5-27) and Inder Kumar (5-17) did the damage as LPS were all out for 46.
