Congratulations are in order to two exceptional players in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

Bradley’s Neil Andrews stroked his way to 148 as his side made an impressive 267-4 at home to Cowling. This took his tally of league centuries to 23. Andrews and James Heseltine 48 put on 106 for the first wicket.

In reply, the visitors made 146-9. Second-teamer Steve Dalby proved there is life in the old dog yet as he top-scored with 37, and Heseltine rounded off a good day personally with 4-34 off ten overs.

The other outstanding performance came from Thornton’s Kevin Pollard.

He made 75 of his team's 173-8 at Haworth. The 41st run of his innings completed a staggering 20,000 league and cup runs for the club.

Pollard and opening partner Rob Foster put together a stand of 111. Jamie Rowell took 4-27 and Antipodean Reece White 4-35.

The Bronte side romped home by six wickets with Jamie Rowell making 60 and Damian Rowell 51 not out. Pollard, who is 54 in June, started playing for Thornton Seconds in 1974.

Three sides are unbeaten in the First Division - Oakworth, Cullingworth and Bingley Congs.

The Cure Hill side were at Embsay and had few problems in winning by six wickets.

The Shires Laners went first and posted a disappointing 137 with Nathan Robinson top-scoring with 32, with Matthew House, Steve Filkin and Jack Davison taking three wickets each.

Opener Jack Hainsworth carried his bat with 66, aided by Paul Spragg (33) in the successful run chase.

Cullingworth were totally dominant at home to Cononley.

First they crashed 275-7 in their overs, with Steve Welch scoring 70 not out, Kiwi Bevan Ravenscroft 45 and Nigel Brett 43 not out.

The South Craveners had no answer to Omar Khatab, who claimed 6-28 in eight overs to have them back in the hut for 121.

Bingley Congs perhaps sprung the surprise of the day when they turned over Haworth Road at Beckfoot Lane. The Baildon Bottom side were hustled out for 127, with Andrew Copping taking 4-11 and Neil Copping 4-34.

The former followed this with a stylish 76 not out to go with Chris Hemsley’s 36 as the hosts cantered home by eight wickets.

Champions Crossflatts have yet to open their account as they entertained Barrowford and went down by 18 runs.

The Bull Holme side made 218-6, with Nick Burton top-scoring with 62, Andy Smith hitting 51 and Freddie Bailey 44. Josh Brooksbank made 57 in the unsuccessful chase.

As with the top division, there are three undefeated sides in the Second DivisionSutton, Long Lee and Ingrow.

The Royd Hill side encountered a few problems before beating a lacklustre Pendle Forest side.

A Summerscales top-scored with 58 of the Fence side's 126 as Wasim Hussain took 4-27.

The home side found themselves 25-5 before Hussain (42no) and Simon Doane (48) steadied the ship to guide their team home by three wickets as Nick Daniel finished with 4-32.

Long Lee, fresh from their 285 of the previous week, followed this with 304-8 at home to Embsay II, with Paul Stowell hitting 66, Jon Green 46, James Wilkinson 44 and Matt Taylor 43.

The visitors replied with a creditable 183-7. Nas Hussain made 38, Brian Hodgson 35 not out and Jonathan Coward 34 as Green took 4-74.

Meanwhile, Ingrow were in stunning form at Chatburn.

The Ribble Valley side went first and 15-year-old James Price made 51.

However, they did not make enough runs witrh their 182-7, and paid for this when Chris White crashed 81 not out as he and Mark Price (48) put on 116 for the first wicket.

Then Lee Humphries (28no) and White put on an undefeated 70 for the second wicket, and the points were on the way to Hainworth.

Wilsden’s Steve Wright and Neil Jagger (38) put on 91 for their first wicket at Noyna. The former carried his bat with 97 to see the total to 192-4 in the overs.

Foulridge never got to grips with the visitors' bowlers and were dismissed for 96 in reply, with Tom Pierson bowling well to get 6-12 off six overs as David Spokes hit a stylish 27 and Tony Bradley a gritty 19 not out.

Riddlesden must have been anticipating picking up three points after they knocked over Glusburn for a modest 129 at Park Field.

Paul Barker made 47 as N Razak took 5-33 off nine overs. However, the hosts roared back and dismissed the visitors for 115 to win by 14 runs. Adam Khan top-scored with 33 as Nick Williamson claimed 4-22.

Sandy Lane have yet to get into their stride, suffering their second defeat of the season.

They were hustled out for 113 at Greenwood Park as Alan Hayes took 4-39 and Azhar Mahmood 3-25.

The latter followed this with 30 as, together with Matthew Cox (48no), visitors Airedale romped home by eight wickets.

Four unbeaten sides lead the Third DivisionGargrave, Ingrow St John’s, Haworth Road II and Crossflatts II.

Gargrave shot Eldwick & Gilstead out for just 71 at Skipton Road, with John Metcalfe taking 6-12 off 18 overs. Pete Cowburn made 53 not out as the home side ers triumphed by ten wickets.

N Gata-Aura made 67 not out as Haworth Road II plundered 229-9 at home to Cullingworth II. The visitors succumbed to 137 all out.

Crossflatts II have quickly found their feet in the higher division. They blasted 236-5 at Oakworth II, with S Baxter scoring 50 not out, Brian Freimanis 49 and Mark Jones 48. The Cure Hill side replied with 129.

Ingrow St John’s pulled off a thrilling one-wicket victory in a high-scoring game with Haworth West End at Penistone Park.

Opener Sam Chipman (96no) was the backbone of the home side's 215-7. The Saints were always in the frame, despite 6-77 by Joe Holt.

Mohammed Shahnawaz made 88 in just 40 balls, with seven sixes and six fours, and with M Mansha (46) helped their side to the spoils by one wicket with seven overs to spare.

Skipton CI’s John Stuttard top-scored with 54 as they made 151, with N Spencer taking 4-13 and I Spencer 3-30 at Denholme.

The hosts knocked off the runs for the loss of five wickets, with Rich Taylor scoring 74 and R Sheard 65.

Glusburn II smashed the day’s second-highest score - 316-4 over t’hill at Cononley II.

Andy Cairns top-scored with 80, Jack Roberts made 53, Phil Shackleton 50 and Alex Horsfield 40 not out, with Roberts and Horsfield tapping 96 in the last ten overs.

The South Craveners replied with 156-7, with Jake Parker making a fine 69 as evergreen Rummy Smith took 3-3 in four overs.

The Fourth Division is headed by Barrowford II, Riddlesden II and Ingrow St John’s II, who all have maximum points.

For Barrowford II it was the narrowest of margins - one wicket - at home to Bradley II.

The visitors scored 185-8, with D Hunt making 37no and N Lambert 35 as Ajmal Choudrhy took 3-36.

The latter then made 75 to help his side to the points with just nine balls to spare. Peter Martin took 3-56 and Jason Barnett 3-66.

Riddlesden II enjoyed a comfortable 61-run win at the expense of Pendle Forest II at Grange Road, while Ingrow St John’s II finally brought to an end Little Marsden’s long unbeaten run at Street Lane. Ali Zaka (5-33) and Sarum Farooq (50) were the main contributors for the winners.

Sandy Lane II beat Bradford & Bingley III by 28 runs at Carleton, and M Nuremberg (145) was the star of Chatburn II's 59-run victory over Wilsden II at Windy Grove in a high-scoring game. Chris Mitchell made 76 and Alan Jowett 49 for the losers.

Long Lee II pulled off a surprise win at Hainworth, beating Ingrow II by 21 runs in a low-scoring game.

Bingley Congs II, Haworth II and Gargrave II are the undefeated sides in the Fifth Division.

Tony Teale scored 86 and Josh Nutting 53 as Bingley Congs II chased down 197 at Booth Bridge Lane with just five balls to spare. Nick Bowker made 71 for losers Thornton.

Gargrave II successfully chased Cowling II 178-7, wining by one wicket in the 41st over, with David Hindle (47) and Ben Davy (32 and 5-67) being the main contributors for the losers, while Tony Spensley (74) and P Smith (3-19) did the business for the winners.

Haworth II must have been feeling low at Airedale II when they were hustled out for 97, with Jason Ahad taking 5-21. The Bronte side, led by Gary Searby (7-12) roared back to whip the home side out for a paltry 31 as Derek Bright assisted with 3-13.

Sutton II beat Haworth WE II by five wickets at Royd Hill and Denholme II managed to defend 84 as they dismissed Eldwick & Gilstead II for 81 at Dick Hudson’s.

Mark Hodgson (95no) and S Choudrhy (91) helped Skipton CI II to a formidable 272-6 at home to Foulridge II. The Noyna side fell 106 runs short of their target.

Finally Oakworth III amassed the day’s highest score - 319-6 against Pendle Forest III at Victory Park, with Ben Fothergill making a fantastic 163 not out. The hosts perished a long way short at 119.
