Rich Pyrah completed a maiden five-wicket haul during the afternoon session on day one of Yorkshire’s LV= County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Headingley.
The 28-year-old all-rounder helped to wrap up the visiting side’s first innings for just 143 with figures of 5-58 from 10.4 overs, while Ryan Sidebottom returned 4-30 from 12 against his former county.
Pyrah had Steven Mullaney caught behind with the second ball after lunch to leave the score at 100-7, before bowling Andre Adams and getting Alex Hales caught at deep square-leg by Gerard Brophy for 85 off 89 balls.
Sidebottom added the scalp of Luke Fletcher, superbly caught by Adam Lyth in the slips.
Yorkshire then advanced their reply to 104-1 after 26 overs at tea, with Lyth unbeaten on 52 and Anthony McGrath 48 not out.
Joe Root was caught behind for a golden duck off the bowling of Charlie Shreck but Lyth and McGrath shared a fluent unbroken partnership of 98 for the second wicket.
