Neither the defending champions Hallfield nor the 2010 runners-up Heaton A will be involved in the preliminary round of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League’s Sir James Roberts Cup.
Both have been given byes into the first round on Sunday, May 22, where Hallfield will be at home to either Muff Field A or Salem Athletic, who are newcomers from the Bradford Central League, and Heaton A will visit Great Horton Meths.
There are four ties in the preliminary round on Sunday, May 8, and the pick of them could well be between Group A sides Yorkshire LPS (fifth in 2010) and Cambing (second) at Woodhall Park, Thornbury.
Both of last year’s finalists from the H Broadbent Trophy for second teams have been promoted into the first teams’ cup.
Winners West Bowling, who were also promoted from Group B, could face Heaton B, who they beat in the final at Mayfield - as long as Heaton B win their preliminary-round tie at home to Mayfield.
Cross Roads-Daisy Hill will resume their contacts with former Bradford Central League club Allerton in another first-round tie at Bradford Salem Rugby Union Club.

Bradford Indians and Mayfield, beaten semi-finalists in the H Broadbent Trophy in 2010, could be eyeing some silverware now that the finalists have been elevated to the first teams’ cup.
Indians are at Central YMCA in the first round on Sunday, June 5, while Mayfield host Bradford Property Rentals B.
There is an all-former Bradford Central League tie with Allerton hosting Salem Athletic, while Cambing B and Cross Roads-Daisy Hill B are the two clubs receiving byes into the last eight on Sunday, July 3.
