Yorkshire were made to toil during the opening session of day two against Nottinghamshire at Headingley.
Rain meant that no play was possible before lunch, with 21 overs being lopped off the day’s allocation of 96, but David Hussey and Samit Patel seemed intent on making up for lost time.
Starting the day on 147-3 from 37 overs, the visitors moved to 327-4 off75 overs at tea, scoring 180 in 38 overs during the session.
Australian Hussey moved to an unbeaten 148, while Patel made 96. The pair shared 184 for the fourth wicket in 41 overs.
Notts seemed intent on having a bowl at Yorkshire for the second time before the close of play, with Hussey even taking 18 off one David Wainwright over.
Hussey and Chris Read added an unbroken 46 from 9.1 overs for the fifth wicket, Read scoring only seven of them.
