Former Windhill and Pudsey Congs batsman David Paynter was voted man of the match as Wrenthorpe won the Heavy Woollen Cup for a record-equalling fourth successive season by defeating Hanging Heaton by 199 runs at Bennett Lane.
Paynter made 53 and took four catches as the Central Yorkshire League side matched the achievements of Dewsbury Saville, who lifted the cup in successive seasons from 1887-1890.
Wrenthorpe made 298-9 in their 50 overs, with opener Eric Austin (66) and Paynter sharing a second-wicket stand of 106.
This provided the foundation for Barry McCormack (41), Luke Patel (31) and Joe Ellis (24) to launch a late onslaught.
Only former Yorkshire leg spinner Mark Lawson (3-31) impressed as the Hanging Heaton bowlers struggled.
It also proved to be a miserable day for the Bradford League Division Two leaders’ batsmen.
They collapsed to 99 all out as former Pudsey Congs paceman Tom Glover (4-54) posed early problems and skipper Gary Fellows – the ex-Pudsey St Lawrence and Yorkshire all-rounder – took 3-5 to wrap up victory for his side.
