The Mewies Solicitors Craven and District League resurrected the Manorlands Plate game after being approached earlier in the year for a friendly against the 3D Sports Southport and District Amateur League.
Rain arrived at Cowling about 1pm on Sunday and, for a short while, the game looked in doubt.
However, with sterling work by groundsman Steve Dalby and his helpers, the match was able to start at 2.30pm, with the overs being reduced to 35 per side.
Craven skipper Dave Hall (Cullingworth) won the toss and asked Southport to bat and it was slow going for six overs.
The score had reached nine when Neil Copping (Bingley Congs) took a caught and bowled.
Only opener Rob Kenny (Rufford) of the first seven posed a threat. However, he went for 37 to make it 62-3. No 8 Richy Bannister finished with 27 not out as the innings closed on 149.
Hall took 2-16, while Jamie Rowell (Haworth) and Gareth Marshall (Cullingworth) both had 2-31.
Young Jack Hainsworth (Oakworth) and Rowell put on 87 in 19 overs before the latter was dismissed for 34.
Hainsworth was stumped for 81, and then Marshall (30no) saw the hosts home by eight wickets.
