Leeds Sikh’s Harcharan Seehra was a deserved man of the match in Sunday’s Dales Council League's Pool Paper Mills Cup final at Pudsey Congs.
He made 83 of their 192 after they won the toss against Mount, and then took four wickets in Sikh’s victory.
In Division A the previous day, Baildon were 8-3 before Mubasher Khan (35) and Intisar Mahmood took the score to 103, the latter smashing seven sixes in 95, Brad Hinchliffe contributing 46 to a total of 208.
Leeds Sikh were 58-4 before Seehra took control but a dropped catch at 46 proved costly as he went on to make 92 and the visitors won with two overs to spare and seven wickets down.
Of those chasing leaders Mount, Leeds Sikh and Hepworth & Idle won but Farnley Hill lost to New Wortley by four wickets.
Hepworth & Idle, just two points behind in fourth spot, beat Crompark, who could only manage 142 in reply to Hepworth & Idle’s 272-7. Shipley Providence bowled out Hawksworth for 136 and lost only three wickets chasing down the total, John Thompson making 55 and taking 4-47.
Mount scored 213 and then Ahmed Patel took 5-32 to restrict Halifax Direct to 118.
Pudsey Congs prop up the table, and Majid Ali (4-51) was their only bowler to make a mark in Rodley’s 158 in 39 overs. Steve Hirst took 4-11 to restrict Congs to 120.
In Division B, Farsley and Drighlington had a nail-biter at Station Road. Farsley made 58, but optimistic Drighlington were dismissed for 56.
Hepworth & Idle B moved into second place after beating nine-man Tong Park Esholt, Maurice Chilton making 56 and James Bentley 44 in Hepworth & Idle’s 170. Tong Park struggled to 123.
Newly-promoted Hyde Park are running away with the division, Kashif Rehman (57) and Adnan Taj (55) helping them to 179, which Pudsey St Lawrence found difficult to match after Kamar Karim took 5-6.
Shipley Providence B were restricted to 139-8, which Cookridge found easy to overcome, Amit Pandey scoring 78 and Neil Bonnington 44 in their 140-5.
In C Division, three matches were cancelled. Tong Manor declared on 265-6, Darren Holmes (97) and Steven Phillips (91) making hay. Cookridge C only made 128 in reply, so Tong Manor lead the table by 12 points.
