Cambing opened up a nine-point lead at the top of Group A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League after defeating second-placed Yorkshire LPS.
Shaqil Ahmed scored 55 and then took 7-6 as LPS were all out in reply to Cambing’s 185, Pradip Paetel taking 5-59 for LPS.
Joint-third, one point behind LPS, are BPR and Bradford Gymkhana. BPR were the day’s top scorers with 333-3, Amir Shezad top-scoring for BPR with 104 not out, while Asim Gul made an unbeaten 82. In reply, Muff Field were all out for 106.
Bradford Gymkhana A beat their B team by one wicket. Sajid Rehman scored 57 in Gymkhana B’s 159 all out (Mohammed Saleem 6-43) before Shezad Khalid (68) helped the A team to a narrow victory.
Heaton lost to Omars, who made 175 (Shabir Hussain 52), with Harshad Patel claiming 6-40. In reply, Heaton were all out for 162, Kamran Amir scoring 54 and Mohammed Saleem taking 4-49.
In GROUP B, the top two won again and are now 18 points clear.
Heaton defeated Buttershaw St Paul’s by two wickets after Basit Ellahi took 5-25, while Hallfield defeated Mandhata by 55 runs, Sajid Mahmood scoring 41 and taking 4-21 for the winners.
Odsal’s Paul Cuthbertson – who has now taken 400 wickets in the league – had a remarkable day as he took 8-28 against Great Horton Meths and also took two catches in the nine-wicket win.
In Group C, Bowling Baptist are still top after they beat Bradford Indians by eight wickets.
Akhtar Mahmood took 8-21 as the Indians were all out for 69. Mohammed Ibrar then scored 49 as Bowling passed the score with two wickets down.
West Bowling are still second after their eight-wicket win over Cambing, Chris Carter scoring 58 not out and Dominic Carter 44 not out.
Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths moved off the bottom of the table after their two-wicket win over Mayfield, Bilal Mogul taking 4-25 as Mayfield were all out for 84.
Centra YMCA defeated Muff Field by 74 runs after Ian Davies scored 60 not out. Andy Merideth and Alex Stephenson took five and four wickets respectively when Muff Field batted.
