Yorkshire travel to Cheltenham tomorrow to take on Gloucestershire in the first of two away matches in four days that could define their Clydesdale Bank 40 campaign.
The White Rose county, needing to top Group B to qualify for the semi-finals, have won their first five matches.
Andrew Gale’s men also travel to face Holland in Rotterdam on Sunday, the Dutch having given them their sternest test of the competition so far when they visited Headingley in May.
Yorkshire, chasing 201, won by four wickets with three balls to spare thanks to an unbeaten 83 from Jacques Rudolph.
Gale says it is “too early” to work out how many victories the Tykes will need from their remaining seven matches.
But it is thought that ten wins overall would be enough to see them through to the last four, especially as there is the fallback of the best second-placed finisher from the three groups to advance as well.
Gloucestershire, currently third in the table, could go level on ten points with Yorkshire.
Yorkshire were today dealt a blow with the news that Tim Bresnan had been called up to the England squad to replace injured clubmate Ajmal Shahzad.
But the all-rounder could still return to play for the Tykes if he does not make the starting line-up at Trent Bridge.
Tino Best, Oliver Hannon-Dalby and Ben Sanderson all come into contention to take the two pace bowling slots from the team that beat Middlesex on Sunday.
Four-day opener Joe Sayers was back in second-team action earlier this week following close to a month on the sidelines, sparked by an asthma attack.
