A marvellous innings from Jacques Rudolph has given Yorkshire a chance of an unlikely victory against Essex in the LV=County Championship.
Going into the final session of the match the Tykes need 181 more runs to win, and it is down to the South African that they have an opportuntity to pick up a fifth win of the season in four-day cricket.
At tea he is unbeaten on 88 to complete an excellent session for Yorkshire, with only Bradford-born Anthony McGrath losing his wicket.
He was ousted by Tim Phillips for 16, but that brought captain Andrew Gale to the crease, who has stood firm alongside Rudolph to reach the interval on 37.
Despite the last 17 overs before tea not yielding a boundary for the Tykes, the asking rate is only at 5.8 runs going into the final 31 overs.
