Barrowford II will play Ingrow II in the Craven League’s Cowling Cup final at Cullingworth on Sunday, August 8 after semi-final victories over Glusburn II and Sutton II respectively.

Barrowford posted 171-9, with M Shahid keeping the scoreboard ticking over. He finished on 89 not out, H Ali adding 31, as Bryan Hollis finished with the best bowling figures of 3-23.

The Park Field side reached 51-1 when M Johnstone went for 21.

After that, only A Cairns (16) and Phil Shackleton reached double figures. Shackleton carried his bat for 44 as the end arrived at 100 in the 41st over. Dave Berry was the best bowler, taking 5-10.

At Ingrow, it was a much closer affair, visitors Sutton initially slumping to 16-4.

The middle order pushed the score on to 99, where Dave Clark perished for a top score of 31, and the innings closed at 113, Neal Kennedy taking 4-38.

Evergreen Dave Holdsworth turned in a super bowling performance, conceding just six runs in his 12 overs, and James Marshall finished with 5-40 in his spell.

Sadly the other bowlers just could not contain the batsmen and Simon Cunliffe (45no) took his side through to the final.
