After a run of four games which only yielded two points, Otley have regained form to win three in a row, including victories over the two title front-runners.

Having overcome second-placed Beckwithshaw last week, they ended Burley’s 14-match unbeaten run.

Otley struggled for runs against the bowling of Shane Etherington (6-53), Sam Smith (45) top-scoring in their 169-8. But Burley found runs no easier to come by, only Ryan Cooper (31) and Jason Wright (35) threatening as Ben Lester (3-44) and Andrew Rhodes (4-46) saw the leaders dismissed for 125.

Inconsistent Guiseley also found some form, inflicting Collingham’s first defeat since May 15 thanks to some solid batting from Adam Waite (63), Harrison Durkin (41) and Charlie Best (57).

Joe Ollerenshaw (84) and Mick Birts (40) top scored as Thackley hit a season-best 239 and they had Kirkstall Educational reeling when Nasser Jamal followed up a knock of 44 with 6-58. But the home side’s last pair managed to see off the final 12 overs to grab a draw.

In Division Two, Silsden grabbed a second successive victory, this time over Tong Park Esholt, to move off the bottom. Veteran Mick Scott (8-65) was instrumental in bowling out Silsden for 130 but the home side could not find an answer to Corey Jacobs (7-45) and were dismissed for 97 despite a half-century from Luke Waters.

Bernard Hughes (9-38) took his wicket tally to 53 as second-placed Olicanian dis-missed leaders Bilton for 106 but they were bowled out ten short of victory, Phil Timmens taking 8-39.

Harden had no such problems against Illingworth, Jeremy Batty starring with a highest score of 47 and 5-9 to clinch a 105-run win that puts them second.

Steeton went down by ten wickets at Follifoot despite a half-century from Neil Spragg, while 95 from Chris Hizzett was not enough for Bolton Villas to overcome Knaresborough’s 233-7.

Needing six for victory off the final ball, they could only manage a four and had to settle for a draw.

The top trio all won in Division Three, Richard Harrison (4-22) and Andrew Wheeler (3-5) the architects of Ilkley’s nine-wicket crushing of Alwoodley.

Charlie Swallow followed up a half-century with 7-11 as Ben Rhydding bowled out Addingham for 42, the visitors’ first defeat since June 12. Menston crushed Woodhouse, Ben Pearson taking 6-17 as the home side were bowled out for 61.

Zak Keune hit 69 for Horsforth but their 153 total was passed by fourth-placed Colton, who won by seven wickets, while neighbours Hall Park beat Skipton.

Rob Walker hit an undefeated 61 in Skipton’s 139 but Mark Scaife fired 39 and Peter Kempton weighed in with 37 not out as Park eased to a six-wicket win.
