Hassan Ali Ahmed’s unbeaten 86 inspired West Bowling to retain the H Broadbent Trophy as they beat Heaton by 59 runs in the final at Mayfield.
Batting first, Bowling lost two early wickets to put their hopes in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League competition in jeopardy.
But from a precarious 16-2, Ahmed shared a third-wicket partnership of 107 with Dominic Carter (29) and then teamed up with John Beesley in a brisk stand of 31 as the holders closed on 166-4.
Ahmed then also picked up one for 12 off seven overs early in the Heaton reply to seal the man of the match award.
But the bowling honours went to Mohammed Rafiq as his 5-37 helped Bowling dismiss their rivals for just 107.
Ben Thornton held two stunning catches near the boundary to hasten Heaton’s decline, Umar Jamil top-scoring with 23.
